The Script
Your Friend Delivers It. I'll Make Sure They (And You) Feel Confident.
Professional ceremony design and writing, plus coaching for your chosen person. Perfect for couples who want a friend or family member to officiate but need expert support behind the scenes.
Why couples choose The Script
Some couples want someone they love at the front of the room. A best friend who knows every chapter of your story. A sibling who'll make everyone laugh and then make everyone cry. Someone whose voice, of all the voices in the world, is the one you want saying these words.
The Script is for you. I handle everything behind the scenes so your chosen person walks in feeling genuinely prepared, not quietly terrified.
The ceremony is still entirely yours. The words are still written around your story. And your guests will still feel every bit of it.
The Script service gives you:
A professionally designed ceremony that's personal, engaging, and authentically you. Your friend doesn't have to figure this out alone.
A complete script they can confidently deliver, with clear directions and guidance on exactly what to say and when. No vague outline, no winging it.
Communal elements that involve your guests in meaningful ways, so it's not just your friend talking at people for thirty minutes. Real involvement, real connection.
Two consultation sessions: one with you to understand your story, one with your person to make sure they feel supported, prepared, and genuinely confident (not terrified).
You get the intimacy of having someone you love officiate, without the stress of figuring it all out yourselves.
Is The Script right for you?
This service is perfect if:
You want a friend or family member to officiate
There's someone in your life you'd love to have lead your ceremony or vow renewal, but they've never done this before and need professional support.
You don't want your person to feel pressured or overwhelmed
You'll have a complete, ready-to-deliver script (not a vague outline). They'll know exactly what to say, when to say it, and how to handle the flow. Plus, I'll coach them through it so they feel genuinely confident.
You want guests involved, not just watching
Your ceremony will include communal elements: maybe guests passing your rings hand-to-hand with whispered blessings, a collective reading, or a ritual everyone participates in. Real involvement, not passive observation.
You need professional ceremony design but have budget constraints
At £595, this gives you expert ceremony writing and celebrant coaching without the full-service investment. It's a smart way to get professional quality while keeping costs down.
You value substance over performance
You don't need a "professional celebrant voice". You want something real, warm, and delivered by someone who genuinely cares about you both.
Here’s How We’ll Work Together
Step 1: The consultation We talk through your vision, your story, and what you want the ceremony to feel like. I also start to understand your chosen person and what they'll need to feel confident on the day.
Step 2: The discussion cards Once you book, I send something. A set of cards to work through together before our discovery call. Questions about your story, each other, your people, and what you want your guests to carry home. The same thoughtful preparation that goes into every ceremony I design.
"I fell in love with him all over again." "It felt like those questions were just for us and no one else."
Step 3: The discovery call Sixty minutes with you both. By the time we speak, you've already done the deep thinking together, so this conversation goes somewhere real. Your story, your people, your vision, and the moments you want the ceremony to hold.
Step 4: Your questionnaire A considered set of questions to capture your voices, your quirks, and the details that make you you. Everything I need to start writing.
Step 5: Celebrant consultation A dedicated call with your chosen person before I write a single word. They share their perspective on you both, we talk through how they want to show up on the day, and they feel part of the process from the start rather than handed a script at the finish line.
Step 6: Your ceremony, designed and written A complete, fully bespoke ceremony script written around your story. Stage directions, timing notes, communal elements, everything your person needs to hold the room with confidence. Up to three rounds of revisions until every word feels right.
Step 7: Celebrant coaching A dedicated sixty-minute session with your chosen person once the script is finalised. Delivery, nerves, flow, how to hold a room. They will finish feeling genuinely excited about what they are about to do.
Step 8: Your wedding day Your person steps up. The words are theirs. The story is yours. And just like that, you are married.

What Makes This Different: Communal Ceremony Design
Most DIY ceremonies fall flat because guests end up as passive observers, politely watching while someone reads from a script for thirty minutes.
Your ceremony won't be like that.
I specialise in communal ceremony design: creating moments where your guests feel genuinely part of your story, not just witnesses to it.
Examples of communal elements I might design with you
Ring Warming
Your rings are passed through the guests before the ceremony, with each person holding them briefly and offering a silent blessing or wish. By the time you exchange them, they've been held by everyone who loves you.
Collaborative Storytelling
A few of your closest people each write and share a short piece about you as a couple. I'll reach out to them with thoughtful prompts (like "What moment showed you they were right for each other?" or "What do you hope for their future together?") and guide them on length and tone. Their voices weave together to tell your story from multiple perspectives, creating a portrait of your relationship through the eyes of your community.
Collective Reading
Instead of one person reading a poem, multiple voices share different lines, weaving together a tapestry of perspectives on love, commitment, or your journey together.
Circle of Intention
Your guests stand and form a circle around you during your vows, creating a physical and emotional container of support and witness.
Community Vows
Your guests are invited to make their own promise to support your marriage (or renewed commitment), either spoken aloud together or through a physical gesture like raising hands or placing hands on hearts.
Time Capsule Contributions
Guests write messages, advice, or memories on cards that go into a box you'll open on your 5th or 10th anniversary, giving them a voice in your future.
These are meaningful, carefully designed moments that transform your ceremony from a performance into a celebration your people actually participate in.
And your friend doesn't have to figure out how to make this work. I design it, write it, and coach them through it.
