How much do celebrants cost? | UK Independent Wedding Celebrant
The Ceremony
A beautifully personal ceremony, created around your story.
A ceremony that feels entirely yours
UK wedding ceremonies from £1,200
Destination wedding ceremonies from £2,800
I create warm, meaningful wedding ceremonies shaped by your relationship, your values and the people you love.
We’ll work together to create a ceremony that sounds like you, feels like you and brings your guests closer to the story you’re celebrating.
Is this you?
You'll probably feel at home here if you're looking for...
…a ceremony that feels authentic, warm and unmistakably personal, rather than something that could belong to anyone,
…guests who don't just witness your wedding, but feel welcomed into it, leaving with a genuine understanding of your relationship and why this day matters,
…the freedom to celebrate in your own way, weaving together the people, traditions, stories and moments that feel most meaningful to you,
…and a celebrant who takes the time to truly understand your relationship, then creates a ceremony that sounds like you, feels like you and is remembered for all the right reasons.
The Ceremony is my bespoke wedding celebrant service for couples who want their wedding to feel personal from the very first word.
We’ll spend time exploring your story, your values and the atmosphere you want to create.
Together, we’ll choose the readings, music, rituals and contributions that hold meaning for you. I’ll then bring everything together in a ceremony written entirely around your relationship.
On the day, I’ll hold the space, guide every moment and help you feel calm, present and ready to take it all in.
Meet The Ceremony
A wedding ceremony created from the people, stories and moments that make your relationship yours.
Your story, held with care
I’ll take the time to understand who you are together: how your relationship began, what you value, what makes you laugh and what this commitment means to you.
My approach is warm, thoughtful and collaborative. You’ll have the freedom to share your ideas, ask questions and shape each part of your ceremony with my guidance throughout.
I’ll bring your story and chosen elements together with care, then lead your ceremony with warmth and confidence so you can feel fully present with each other and everyone gathered around you.
I’m Sinéad, a wedding celebrant who believes the best ceremonies begin with truly knowing the people at their centre.
From first chat to wedding day
1 We talk
We meet over Google Meet or in person for a relaxed conversation about your relationship, your plans and the kind of ceremony you're imagining. It's simply a chance to get to know each other and see whether we're the right fit.
2 We dive in
Once you've booked, we spend time together exploring your story, your values and everything that's important to you. This is where your ceremony really begins to take shape.
3 We build it together
You complete a questionnaire in your own time, then we work together on the details that make your ceremony yours; readings, music, symbolic moments, guest involvement. You will get access to “The Vows” course, included in your package.
4 I write the first draft of your ceremony
I write a bespoke ceremony that reflects everything we've explored together. We refine it until every word feels completely right, with as many revisions as you need.
5 I take care of the details
I liaise with your venue and suppliers about everything ceremony-related, and I'm always here if questions pop into your head. Email, message or call; you'll never feel like you're figuring things out on your own.
6 I take care of the day
I arrive around 90 minutes before your ceremony to coordinate the logistics, welcome your guests and make sure everyone knows exactly what's happening. By the time your ceremony begins, everything will feel calm, organised and ready.
You're my only couple that day.
Nothing divides my attention.

A questionnaire to complete together
Next, you’ll reflect on your relationship as a couple: the story you share, the values at its heart and the memories and people that have shaped it.
Our first ceremony meeting
We’ll meet online or in person to explore your answers, talk about your wedding plans and begin shaping a ceremony that feels completely personal to you.
Space to share your individual stories
You’ll each complete a private individual questionnaire, giving me the chance to understand your relationship through both of your eyes and uncover the details that will make your ceremony unmistakably yours.
Guidance choosing every element
We’ll explore readings, music, symbolic rituals and ways to involve your guests, creating a ceremony filled with details that hold meaning for you.

Support throughout the planning process
You can contact me by email, message or phone when you have a question, want to explore an idea or need a little guidance.
A calm, confident and joyful ceremony delivery
I’ll arrive around 90 minutes early to coordinate the final details, welcome your guests and lead your ceremony with warmth and care.
Oh you were spoken about, at length by sooooo many of our friends and family. The hotel said they’ve never seen the likes of a celebrant like you! You’ve set the bar very high. Our friends all wanted to know where we found you, how is she so amazing? what is her story??? Oh you are a marvellous human being and your own husband must marvel at your greatness on a daily basis.

Wedding celebrant fees can vary widely, typically ranging from around £600 to £6,000 depending on the service, experience and level of personalisation. Like any other wedding supplier, it’s important to find a celebrant who aligns not only with your values and preferences but also with your budget.

In England and Wales, a celebrant-led ceremony is not currently legally binding. (Although there is, at the time of writing, July 2026, a public consultation on Marriage Law Reform ongoing). Until any changes, you’ll need to complete the legal formalities separately with a registrar, which many couples choose to do at a register office before or after their wedding celebration.
If you’re planning a ceremony outside England or Wales, check the local legal requirements for your chosen destination.
-
It’s a good idea to enquire once you have your wedding date and venue confirmed. Many couples book 12 to 18 months in advance, especially for popular spring and summer dates.
If your wedding is closer, please still get in touch. I may have your date available, and we can create something wonderful within a shorter planning period.
-
Yes. I create ceremonies throughout the UK and would love to hear where you’re planning to celebrate.
Tell me your venue and date when you enquire, and I’ll include any relevant travel or accommodation requirements clearly within your personalised proposal.
-
Yes. Destination wedding ceremonies start from £2,800.
We’ll create your ceremony together in the same thoughtful and personal way, with planning meetings held online where needed. I’ll also work with your venue and wedding team so the ceremony feels calm, connected and beautifully coordinated wherever you choose to celebrate.
Travel and accommodation requirements will be clearly explained in your personalised proposal.
-
Absolutely. Your vows can be one of the most personal parts of your ceremony, and I’ll help you find words that feel natural, honest and comfortable to say.
You’ll receive access to The Vows course, which guides you through the writing process. You can share your vows with me for support or keep them secret from each other until the ceremony.
We can also explore how you say your vows as there are many different options and it’s worth thinking about what will feel best for you both.
-
Yes. We can include readings, music, symbolic rituals, cultural or family traditions, and meaningful contributions from the people you love.
I’ll help you explore the possibilities and bring each chosen element into the ceremony with purpose, creating an experience that feels connected and personal.
-
Most celebrant wedding ceremonies last around 25 to 40 minutes. The final length will depend on your story, vows, readings, rituals, music and guest involvement.
We’ll shape the timing together so every element has space and the ceremony flows naturally from beginning to end.
